Adriyana sat cross-legged on her bed, reading her Muggle Studies notes.

~Football: Muggle game where there is a black-and-white ball and two teams. To score, a member of one team must kick the ball past the opposing teams’ ‘goalie,’ and into their goal. Whoever scores the most times, wins.
Sirius, why d’you think there’s only one ball?
I don’t know, but that doesn’t seem very fun, does it? Where’s the danger?
Maybe, since you can’t touch the ball with your hands, you punch and slap the other players.
I still think Bludgers are more effective.
Absolutely. I’d pick Quidditch over this shit any day of the week.
So would I. No contest.

Muggle weddings differ, depending on the Muggles’ religion. Technically, all Muggles need to be legally married is a contract they can get from the government. There is also the wedding ceremony, where the Muggles are considered married by their religion, and the reception, which is a party where everyonegets roaring drunk and shags in the bathrooms celebrates the new marriage.
Homework:
Write twelve inches on the differences between Muggle and Wizarding wedding ceremonies and traditions. Due next Tuesday.
Adriyana leaned back against her pillows and smiled. Her favourite part of Muggle Studies so far had been learning about weddings. This essay would be too easy.
But, even as she pulled a piece of paper into her lap, her eyelids began to feel heavy. Damn James and his late-night Quidditch practice…So bloody tired… She yawned widely and let her eyes fall shut, quill dropping out of her hand and leaving a large purple dot on her duvet. The last thing she saw before drifting off to sleep was her conversation with Sirius and notes on Muggle Weddings.
Sirius…Wedding…Sirius…Wedding…
***
“Agie, that’s the one!” Lily squealed looking Adriyana up and down.
“It’s perfect.” Adriyana sighed dreamily, spinning around in front of a large mirror, sending creamy white silk billowing out around her.
“You look gorgeous.” Alice smiled.
Adriyana studied the dress she was wearing. Silky, pale turquoise ribbons criss-crossed from the top of the dress, down to her waist, before the delicate ivory material flowed down, ending in a lacy trim around her feet. The top part of the dress was dotted with sparkly, crystal-like flowers. She toyed with the halter-strap on the back of her neck. “Maybe I should forget Sirius and just marry the dress.”
“Doesn’t matter. He’ll probably die when he sees you in it, anyway,” Annie mused, fixing a lacy veil into Adriyana’s hair.
“What about these, Agie?” McKaylah said, holding up a pair of strappy shoes in the mirror. “You could use the extra height.”
“Oh, thanks,” Adriyana crinkled her nose and smiled, but put the shoes on anyway.
“What about this?” Lily held up a heavy pearl necklace and matching bracelet.
Adriyana ran her fingers over the jewellery, eyes widening. Everything was perfect. Except for one thing. “I can’t afford all this! How much money do you girls think I have?”
“Well…probably just enough for half this stuff. But, I’m sure Albus already offered to pay for all of it for you, right? He’s glad to see more love in the world, especially from his own granddaughter.”
“He did, but…this stuff is expensive! I think I’m pushing it…” She bit her lower lip.
“Come on, Agie! It’s you’re wedding, for God’s sake!” Annie said.
Adriyana smiled at her reflection. “Excuse me, Ma’am?” She motioned to the sales clerk. “I’ll take all of this. Can I write you the Galleons from a Gringotts account?”
***
Adriyana pushed open the door to her and Sirius’ flat, revelling in the clink! of the ring on her finger against the knob.
Almost immediately after entering, she found herself pressed right back up against the door. She laughed. “You okay, Sirius?”
He kissed her hair. “Missed you.” Her forehead. “This place is really boring when you’re alone.” Her nose. “Was almost considering cleaning before you came in.” A lingering kiss on her lips.
They eventually pulled away, And Sirius looked at the bag in Adriyana’s hand. “Is that your dress?”
“Nope, the dress needs to be fitted, won’t get it for a few days. This is just some other things.”
“You found a dress, though?” he asked. She nodded.
“I still can’t believe we’re getting married!”
“I still can’t believe you said yes!”
“Of course I did. I love you.”
Sirius only got out “I lo--“ before she pulled him back for another kiss.
***
Sirius and Adriyana had decided on a lakeside wedding. It just seemed right, and Adriyana thanked Merlin it was sunny and warm, if not a little windy.
The next time she put the dress on was the day of the wedding. She stood in front of the hotel room’s mirror, which was now floor-to-ceiling thanks to Engorgio, smiling widely and fixing her hair.
“Here you go, Agie.” Lily handed her a bouquet of violets, calla lilies, and white roses. “The limousine’s here.”
“OhmygodLilyiamgettingmarriedNOW!” Adriyana ran out the door.
***
Adriyana stepped out of the limo, holding her veil to her head, hoping that none of her hair would fall out of place.
Annie, Alice, and McKaylah were all waiting there, in their soft blue bridesmaid’s dresses. As soon as Adriyana stepped out of the limo, they all ran over to her and hugged her tightly.
“Ready?” one of them whispered in her ear. Adriyana nodded.
The girls let her loose. “I’m ready.”
“You look beautiful, Agie.” James smiled. “You’re first, Sarah. Remember what to do?” He put his three-year old daughter down.
“Yessss, Daddy! ‘Frow the flowers on the white carpet! It’s thata way!” She pointed to a gravelly path, beyond which the wedding ceremony was, just out of their sight.
“Go ahead, sweetheart!” Lily cooed, and Sarah toddled off down the trail to the wedding ceremony, carrying a basket of flowers.
“You next, Charlie!” Adriyana motioned to Charlie Weasley, violent red hair only more noticeable against his dark tux. “Just carry the rings!”
“I’m seven now, I know what to do!” Charlie said proudly.
Charlie disappeared and the bridesmaids and ushers paired up; James and Lily, Annie and Remus, McKaylah and Peter, and Alice and Frank.
She turned to Albus, who was going to walk her down the aisle. “You haven’t said anything yet.” She tried to swallow the jitters building up inside her away.
“I’m…very proud of you, Adriyana. Despite the amount of trouble he caused me in school, Mr. Black makes you truly happy, and he loves you with all his heart. No, none of that, now. You’ll smudge your makeup.” He wiped the tear away from her face before it could fall.
She smiled. “Thanks, Albus.”
“I think it’s our turn…” he said, as Lily and James disappeared down the trail that led to her wedding.
Adriyana concentrated on not crying as they walked, keeping her eyes focused straight ahead. She felt the ground beneath her feet change from hard earth to soft grass, and looked down. She was standing on a piece of white material. The wedding aisle.
Her eyes shifted upward, locking with Sirius’. She smiled at his expression, fighting harder against the tears. His grey eyes were wide, his jaw hanging open, and his hands were twitching. James, who was standing closet to Sirius, pushed up on Sirius’ jaw until it closed again. Even from the other end of the aisle, she saw him gulp.
Love you, she mouthed, as she began walking down the aisle. He wiped hastily at his eyes with his sleeve, and it was all she could do not to run the rest of the way and jump into his arms.
Finally they made it to the altar. Adriyana watched Sirius' hands twitch as Sirius grabbed her and pulled her forward into his embrace.
“Agie, you’re beautiful. Love you, love you, you look amazing, love you so much,” he whispered frantically into her ear.
“Love you too, baby. Let’s get married now, okay?”
The priest cleared his throat. “We have gathered here today…”
Adriyana half-listened to what he was saying, unable to take her eyes off Sirius. Suddenly, he was talking. “I do.”
“And do you, Adriyana Erica Dumbledore, take Sirius Orion Black as your lawfully wedded husband, in sickness and in health, for richer or poorer, until death do you part?”
She nodded, squeezing Sirius’ hand tighter. “I do.”
She drifted out of focus again, staring at Sirius, until she heard Charlie’s squeaky voice. “I have the rings!”
Sirius picked one up, and the Minister quoted him his lines. Sirius looked straight into her eyes, picking up her hand and sliding the gold ring onto her finger.
“With this ring, I thee wed…”
***
“I pronounce you husband and wife, you may kiss the bride!”
Sirius pulled Adriyana towards his so quickly that she fell over, kissing her so passionately she knew she’d remember it all her life. When he started to make it deeper, and more intense, she pulled away, even though it was the last thing she wanted to do. “Sirius, everyone we know is here. And the Priest guy, who we’ve never met before, but I still don’t want to snog like that around him.”
“Sorry, Agie. Been dying to do that all bloody day. You look so beautiful, can’t believe you let me marry you.” He kissed her again.
“Love you,” she whispered against his lips.
“Love you more.”
“Wanna bet?” she asked, before pressing her lips against his once more.
***
“For the first time, I’d like to introduce: Mr. and Mrs. Sirius Black!”
Sirius scooped Adriyana into his arms and kicked open the door to the reception. She screamed, laughed, and then started waving at all their cheering friends.
James began clinking his glass with his fork, accidentally knocking it over and causing it to shatter. Adriyana laughed again and reached up to kiss Sirius.
The band began to play a slow song, and the woman on the stage took the microphone in her hands and began to sing. Sirius lowered her feet onto the floor and wrapped his arms around her tightly.
For all those times you stood by me
For all the truth that you made me see
For all the joy you brought to my life
For all the wrong that you made right
For every dream you made come true
For all the love I found in you…
They began to slowly sway to the music, and she pulled herself closer to him. “We did it, Sirius.”
“I can’t believe it. I was so nervous, Agie, I almost threw up. Hell, I almost jumped out the hotel window.”
You touched my hand I could touch the sky
I lost my faith, you gave it back to me
You said no star was out of reach…
“I’m glad you didn’t. Can’t imagine ever marrying anyone but you.”
"Agie..."
That was odd. She could’ve sworn Sirius just whispered her name, but it was Lily’s voice. How strange...
“Agie! Agie, wake up!”
Adriyana jumped. “Bzuh! What…where am I?” She looked around, breathing heavily.
“You’re in our dormitory…are you okay?”
Adriyana was studying her ringless hand. “I guess.”
“You should finish that.” Lily pointed to Adriyana’s lap, where the Muggle Studies assignment sat. “James’ party is tonight, you’ll never get a chance if you don’t do it now.”
Adriyana looked at the paper, then at Lily, then at the mirror. A dream? It was all a dream…
She picked up her quill and smiled. “Okay, Lils. I’m on it.”
